G-Mode will bring Glory of Heracles III feature phone port to PC via Steam on March 28
G-Mode has announced that they will bring their feature phone port of Glory of Heracles III as part of the G-Mode Archive series for PC via Steam on March 28. The same port has been available earlier on Nintendo Switch since October 2020, but this will mark the first time a title in the niche JRPG series makes its way to the popular PC gaming platform.
Glory of Heracles III is also known in Japan by its subtitle "Kamigami no Chinmoku" (The Silence of the Gods). The game was originally released by Data East for Super Famicom (SNES) in 1992. G-Mode then made a port of the game for Japanese feature phones in 2008, which also serves as the basis of this further port.
Visibility for this title may be scarce outside Japan, as it never received an official English release. In fact, out of the whole series, only Tamashii no Shoumei (The Proof of Soul)—the latest-to-date entry released for Nintendo DS in Japan in 2008 and was originally planned to be titled Glory of Heracles V—had an actual English release in 2010, with its title simply localized to Glory of Heracles—in a similar fashion to the first-localized and seventh-overall Fire Emblem entry: The Blazing Blade. However, the third entry was the only one in the series to have a feature phone port made by G-Mode, so this may be the only instance for a title in the series to be made available for contemporary platforms for the time being.
As another fun but essential fact, Kazushige Nojima—who is nowadays best known for writing the stories for Final Fantasy and Kingdom Hearts titles—was also the scenario writer for some of the Glory of Heracles entries, and this third game was one of those.
