Yakuza 0 Director's Cut will have 26 minutes of new cutscenes with 60 fps and 4K resolution in TV mode

By now you have already heard how a Nintendo Switch 2 Premiere event took place in both Japan, Europe, and the US around the time the April 2025 Nintendo Switch 2 Direct took place. Yakuza 0 Director's Cut was one of the games that were available to play at the event, and we managed to learn more about the new port's details via Famitsu's interview and impressions from the Japanese venue.

Sega's official English press release primarily mentioned the Red Light Raid online mode that features up to 60 playable characters, along with additional language support and brand-new story cutscenes. Famitsu's interview with the producer Makoto Suzuki revealed that the new cutscenes will have a combined total of around 26 minutes long.

As for the Red Light Raid mode, up to four players worldwide can get matched in a session. But even though the mode's Japanese title is Raid Online Battle, Suzuki noted that it can actually be played in single-player as well.

As a side note, the Yakuza 0 Director's Cut demo lets the player play from either the beginning or Chapter 2 for 15 minutes while the Switch 2 is docked and connected to a TV. Famitsu also asked Suzuki about the Switch 2 port's resolution and frame rate, to which the producer replied that the team is fixated on having the game maintain a frame rate of 60 fps to ensure smooth action gameplay.

As for the resolution, Suzuki specified 4K in TV mode, but he also teased that the game will look beautiful even when shown on the Switch 2's monitor in undocked mode.

Sega and Ryu Ga Gotoku Studio's Yakuza 0 Director's Cut will be available as one of the launch titles for Nintendo Switch 2 when the console gets released simultaneously worldwide this year on June 5.
