Get ready to play Guild Wars 2 this August

After months and months of waiting, NCSoft and AreaNet have finally narrowed down the release date for Guild Wars 2.

The free-to-play MMORPG will be available starting August 28th in both North America and Europe. “After five years of creation, development, and polish, announcing the launch date of Guild Wars 2 is a huge milestone for us, but the thing we’re most looking forward to is seeing gamers from all over the globe explore this world and begin creating their own stories,” said said Mike O’Brien, president and co-founder of ArenaNet.

A final beta weekend event is also being planned for July 20-22nd. Check out the announcement trailer below.
