The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild Nintendo Switch Edition will not include the Expansion Pass DLC as confirmed by IGN. It will be available as a separate purchase.

During the Nintendo Switch 2 Direct, Nintendo revealed Nintendo Switch 2 Editions for The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild and Tears of the Kingdom coming at launch on June 5. These will be sold for $10 or available at no additional cost for Nintendo Switch Online + Expansion Pass subscribers. There was no clarity if this upgrade included the Expansion Pass content for The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild. As per a statement from Nintendo to IGN, it will be a separate purchase. The full quote via IGN is below:

"The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild – Nintendo Switch 2 Edition does not include The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild Expansion Pass DLC. That DLC is available as a separate purchase."

This means those who buy The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild Nintendo Switch 2 Edition will need to pay an additional $20 to get The Trial of the Sword and The Champion's Ballad. The contents are detailed here.

This means those who don't own the game yet will need to buy The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild - Nintendo Switch 2 Edition and the Expansion Pass for a total of about $90.
