G-Mode will bring ports of Shin Megami Tensei 20XX and Tokyo Requiem to Nintendo Switch and PC via Steam

G-Mode has revealed plans to release ports of two Shin Megami Tensei feature phone games for Nintendo Switch and PC via Steam at the G-Mode Archives+ 5th anniversary stream. The two titles in question are Shin Megami Tensei 20XX and Shin Megami Tensei: Tokyo Requiem.

A Steam page for the G-Mode Archives+ port of Shin Megami Tensei 20XX, which first appeared for Japanese feature phones in 2004, has been opened immediately. Even though the page only shows "Coming soon" as the release window, G-Mode has confirmed in the stream that they will release it on May 8. The company also announced that the Switch port will appear earlier on April 24. However, the Nintendo eShop page will not be set up until the actual release date.

In addition, G-Mode announced that they will also release a G-Mode Archives+ port of Shin Megami Tensei: Tokyo Requiem, which appeared in Japanese feature phones in 2007. No further details were announced for the second game port, though, as the company will announce its release windows at a later time.

As a side note, the same stream also revealed ports of two Armored Core feature phone games. G-Mode Archives+ Armored Core Mobile Mission is immediately available on Nintendo Switch, with a PC Steam release slated for April 30. G-Mode will also follow through later on with another port for Armored Core Mobile 2.

You can find the official trailer, screenshots, and game description for G-Mode Archives+ Shin Megami Tensei 20XX right below. Note that even though the Steam page includes descriptions in English, the actual game is so far only confirmed to have a Japanese language interface.

A boy thirsting for power, and a girl who has lost her memory,

In the twisted world of Valhalla, what destiny awaits them?

Series Overview

This game is a mobile game app that was exclusively released for Japanese flip phones.

It inherits popular game systems from the Shin Megami Tensei series, such as a system that allows you to communicate with demons and recruit them as allies, a system where you can fuse allied demons together to create more powerful ones, and a system where the protagonist's alignment shifts between "LAW" and "CHAOS" based on his actions.

Game Story

Set in the near-future city of TOKYO Millennium, built after the Great Destruction, the game follows a boy living in the slums of "Valhalla," a residential area of the city.

One day, after being spotted by the Temple Knights during a fight, the boy is pursued. He then meets a mysterious man through a friend who offers to help him grow stronger, on the condition that the boy defeats the ruler of Valhalla, who controls the people. In exchange, the boy receives a "COMP."

To train, the boy descends into the old underground city, where demons roam, and encounters a mysterious girl who has lost her memory.

What will the fate of these two characters be as their story unfolds?

Gameplay Features

The game not only features demon fusion ("Demon × Demon") but also allows players to fuse demons with swords to create powerful weapons.

By using specific items for "Sword Fusion," players can fuse demons with swords ("Demon × Sword") or even fuse swords with other swords ("Sword × Sword"). The powerful swords created through this process can be equipped by the protagonist to enhance their strength.

As players navigate crucial events throughout the story, each decision they make will dramatically shape the course of the narrative, ultimately determining the fate that awaits them at the end.
