SD Gundam G Generation Eternal will add new Gundam SEED Recollection storyline on April 30 [Update]

Update (April 24)

Bandai Namco has published a new trailer that showcases the upcoming Mobile Suit Gundam SEED Recollection storyline in SD Gundam G Generation Eternal. You can also find the trailer right below.

Original (April 21)

Bandai Namco has newly announced that they will release a brand-new story titled Mobile Suit Gundam SEED Recollection in SD Gundam G Generation Eternal on April 30. The new storyline, which is set to tell an additional story between the original Gundam SEED and its sequel SEED Destiny, will be available in the Main Stages list.

The announcement of this new story really came out of nowhere. There were no mentions of this title in the launch roster nor the immediate post-launch update roadmap published before the free-to-play game formally launched on April 16.

However, this would not be the first time Bandai Namco adds a new canonical story to a live-service game. In Super Robot Wars DD, the company has been using the same playbook to occasionally add post-Moon Dwellers canon lore from the SRW Original Generation series.

Bandai Namco also shared a press release in Japan that has more details on the new storyline. SEED Recollection will specifically tell the tales of Kira Yamato and Athrun Zala in the interim period. They also introduced two new Mobile Suits: Kira's Dragoon Strike and Athrun's Murasame Flight Trial Type. The SD versions of both units will be available for players to obtain and put in their in-game squadrons.

Gundam SEED Recollection Mobile Suits

SD Gundam G Generation Eternal is available as a free-to-play game worldwide on iOS and Android. Once the SEED Recollection content has been added on April 30, they should be available to access for the rest of the game's lifespan, as there are no mentions of temporary time limits, unlike Gundam SEED Astray.
