D4 Enterprise will release physical compilation of 4 classic Ys entries for Windows 10 and 11 in Japan in 2026
D4 Enterprise has opened pre-orders for a physical game compilation tentatively titled Ys Collection. Set to release in 2026 at 28,160 yen, it will contain four classic entries from the series that will be playable on Windows 10 and 11 PCs.
This collection will feature four titles: The first Ys, Ys II, Ys III, and Ys V: Lost Kefin, Kingdom of Sand. All of them will be compiled on a CD with a package and manual made with the same materials as the classic 1980s-1990s releases.
The first three games are also implied to be available in multiple versions, as listed below:
- Ys - PC-8801SR / PC-9801 / X1 / FM-7 / FM77AV / MSX2
- Ys II - PC-8801SR / PC-9801 / X1 / FM77AV / MSX2
- Ys III - PC-8801SR / PC-9801 / X68000 / MSX2
- Ys V - Super Famicom (SNES)
D4 Enterprise has been known for porting legacy PC games—including RPGs made by Nihon Falcom—via the EGG Console emulation platform to modern Windows OS PCs and Nintendo Switch. For the latter, the company has released ports of Ys I: Ancient Ys Vanished and Ys II: Ancient Ys Vanished - The Final Chapter, as well as Ys III: Wanderers From Ys.
The company has also released more ports for PCs, but they most notably released the Ys Complete Works in 2007. The digital-exclusive collection contains all first five entries in the series including Ys IV, which is conspicuously absent from this physical compilation.
