This news is noteworthy because a lot of third party games have been confirmed to use Game Key Cards that require downloading the full game to play. Marvelous USA recently even posted an FAQ that mentioned Rune Factory: Guardians of Azuma using a 64GB game card for its physical release. Both games can be upgraded from the Nintendo Switch versions to the Nintendo Switch 2 versions for a feww for those who buy the Nintendo Switch 1 physical or digital releases. Marvelous USA today announced that digital pre-orders are now available for the latest entries in the much-loved Rune Factory and STORY OF SEASONS series for Nintendo platforms. Action-RPG/Life Sim and Nintendo Switch™ 2 launch title, Rune Factory: Guardians of Azuma, is scheduled for launch on June 5 and can be pre-ordered on the Nintendo eShop for Nintendo Switch and Nintendo Switch 2. The standard edition will be available to pre-order for $59.99 on Nintendo Switch and $69.99 for Nintendo Switch 2. A Digital Deluxe edition will be available to pre-order for $69.98 on Nintendo Switch; and a Super Digital Deluxe edition for $79.98 on Nintendo Switch.
At launch, Nintendo Switch 2 players can upgrade their Nintendo Switch 2 standard edition with a “Digital Deluxe” DLC set for $9.99, or a “Super Digital Deluxe” DLC set for $19.99.
The Nintendo Switch 2 Upgrade Pack will also be available for pre-order for $10 for anyone that owns either the physical or digital Nintendo Switch version of Rune Factory: Guardians of Azuma.
