Rumor: Final Fantasy Versus XIII Cancelled

Well this is really sad if true, Kotaku reports that according to various sources Final Fantasy Versus XIII has been cancelled.

The sources claim that Versus XIII was cancelled in the last few weeks which led to greatly depreciated morale throughout the company.

Another source claims that Square Enix has decided to not make the cancellation public but instead let the game die off on its own mainly due to the possibility of the reduction in the company's stock prices.

Versus XIII and Kingdom Hearts series' director Tetsuya Nomura has been very discrete about the game, he did promise us some news back in March which never came while asking us for patience in May.

Kotaku also claims that Versus XIII's existing assets have been absorbed into another numbered Final Fantasy game which could very well be XV.
