Sega registers trademark for 7th Dragon 2020 3rd Encount

The Imageepoch developed handheld RPG series, 7th Dragon, may be getting another entry if a trademark grabbed by Sega is any indication.  It is also likely already in development, as Sega has released a logo to go with the trademark.

It is unclear if the trademark is pointing to a direct sequel of the PSP title, 7th Dragon 2020, or a possible enhanced port to the more recent handhelds.  It may not even be a game at all. 

Of course any speculation about localization would be a bit premature at this point.  Could the game be released in the west without the prequels being available?  Could appearing on a platform that doesn't have an unhealthy market like the PSP increase its chances?  We'll have to wait for an official announcement.
