First look at Disgaea Dimension 2 for PlayStation 3
Nippon Ichi's first true Disgaea sequel, Disgaea D2, has gotten its first set of screenshots.
D2 is a continuation of the first Disgaea and takes place a few years after the original's good ending. Laharl, Etna and Flonne, along with old and new characters will also be introduced in the story. At first the team considered remaking the first game, but decided to move ahead with an all new entry.
As for gameplay, Disgaea D2's systems will be pulled from Disgaea: Hour of Darkness and Disgaea 4. Many fans thought Disgaea 4 was somewhat complicated, so D2 will be balanced closer to the first game.
Disgaea D2 will be available for the PS3 on March 20, 2013 in Japan. An overseas release has yet to be confirmed.
