Shin Megami Tensei IV gets a release date

The recent issue of Weekly Famitsu revealed the release date for upcoming Atlus 3DS RPG, Shin Megami Tensei IV.  The game will hit Japanese retailers on May 23.

A limited edition 3DS XL will launch alongside SMT IV.  The special 3DS will have a "gods and devils" design as well as a pre-installed digital copy of the game.

Launch buyers will be rewarded with a bonus sound and art collection, which will only be included among first-run copies.

There is currently no news on the localization front, but considering the growing popularity of the series in the west coupled with Atlus' own willingness to bring titles over would make the lack of a western release very surprising.
