Today is Nobuo Uematsu's 48th Birthday!
Uematsu is famed for his Final Fantasy soundtracks, and is widely referred to as the John Williams (Star Wars, Jaws, Indiana Jones) of videogame music. He personally scored the entire soundtrack of almost every Final Fantasy title up until Final Fantasy X, creating some of the most famous gaming tunes in history.
He's also been involved in famed videogame titles such as Chrono Trigger and Blue Dragon, and is currently working on the soundtrack to Hironobu Sakaguchi's Lost Oddesy. He's also collaborating with Nintendo's Koji Kondo on the soundtrack for Super Smash Bros. Brawl.
