Square Announces The Last Remnant

According to Square-Enix, it's upcoming next-gen RPG is called The Last Remnant and it is being based on Epic Game's Unreal Engine 3. Even though Square hasn't announced which consoles this game will be released for, a PS3 and Xbox 360 versions are likely. The Last Remnant will be directed by Hiroshi Takai who previously worked as a planner in The Bouncer, for the Playstation 2.

The Last Remnant will have a turn-based battle system and players will be able to choose from two playable characters. Like many other traditional heroes that have featured in Square-Enix previous games, Rush will be one of the main characters and the other unnamed character will be a dark anti-hero, possibly aimed at western gamers.

Square-Enix wishes to simultaneously release The Last Remnant next year in various markets. More news as we get it.
