Dragon Quest IX confirmed for Release in Early 09

A Japanese website has interviewed Square-Enix President Yoichi Wada, questioning him on the upcoming entry in the Dragon Quest series - shockingly announced for the Nintendo DS some time ago.

President Wada confirmed to Jiji press that Dragon Quest 9 would definitely be released early on in the new year, most likely in the first quarter of 2009. This should put some fan fears that the game was in development limbo to rest.

A date of early 2009 for Japan bodes well for a late 2009 release in the US and Europe. We'll bring more as we have it.
