Tales of the World: Reve Unitia gets some debut screens and information
Announced in the latest issue of the Jump magazine, Tales of the World: Reve Unitia is a SRPG for the Nintendo 3DS based on the smartphone game "Tales of the World: Tactics Union". Like other "Tales of the World" spinoffs, playable characters from several of the previous games make an appearance. The characters revealed include: Lloyd Irving (Tales of Symphonia), Asbel Lhant (Tales of Graces), Meredy (Tales of Eternia), Yuri Lowell (Tales of Vesperia), and finally Jade Curtiss and Natalia Kimlasca-Lanvaldear (Tales of the Abyss).
Two new characters are also to be found in the game, designed by Daigo Okumura. Tern, a timid boy with green hair and Nacht, a protective big brother character. Both these characters have a creature/mascot form, but can also turn human-like as well. Tales Of The World: Reve Unitia will have a fully voiced main scenario for its Japanese release, with new animated scenes and cut-ins, but the release is yet to be dated. A western release is uncertain, as no Tales of the World titles have made their way overseas outside of the original Radiant Mythology.
UPDATE: Abyssal Chronicles translated further details from the official website. Reve Unitia's narrative features two viewpoints - one for Tern and one for Nacht. In Tactics Union, only Tern's side of the story was playable, but for Reve Unitia one can play through Nacht's side as well. Natalia, Lloyd and Asbel team up with Tern, while Jade, Yuri and Meredy are a part of Nacht's side. The human-like forms these two characters take is how the join the Tales series' characters in battle.
