Video Games Live to bust out some RPG classics at E3
The folks at Video Games Live, the huge video game music orchestral concert have just announced the line-up for their concert at this year's E3, and if you like anywhere near the show, it's one worth considering - as it's a pretty significant show.
Being at E3, there's more games industry folk in town than any other time. That means that many of them show up at the concert to see their work performed - and this year that includes the likes of Tetris creator Alexey Pajitnov, Civilization IV's Christopher Tin, Bioshock's Gary Schyman, Monkey Islands's Peter McConnell, and Halo's Marty O'Donnel and Michael Salvatori. Many of these artists are taking to the stage to conduct their own music, which is truly a one-off sort of experience.
There's quite a few treats for RPG fans specifically, too. There's the world premiere performance of music from World of Warcraft: Warlords of Draenor conducted by the game's composer, Russell Brower, the world premiere of League of Legends, and, perhaps most notably, Video Games Live's first-ever performance of Aria Di Mezzo Carattere - otherwise known as The Opera from Final Fantasy VI.
In addition to that, Zelda: Symphony of the Goddesses conductor Eimear Noone will take to the stage to conduct both Zelda and Kingdom Hearts pieces. The show will also feature music from Chrono Cross, Chrono Trigger and Final Fantasy VIII, as well as a few surprises.
You can find more details, and tickets, over on the Video Games Live website. If you're going, drop us a tweet on @RPGSite - we might well come and say hello!
