Final Fantasy XIII 360 identical "where it matters"

We had the chance to put Final Fantasy XIII's Producer on the spot at GamesCom regarding the two different versions of the game, finding out exactly what the score is with the two versions.

When asked if the versions will be identical, Yoshinori Kitase gave a clear response.

"Where it matters, yes. Because of differences in the hardware there will be slight differences but these will likely only be noticable by comparing two identical scenes. The main difference is that the Xbox 360 version will ship on multiple discs."

Mr. Kitase went on to confirm that the team were aiming for three discs on the Xbox 360 and that the game had undergone some graphical changes in order to optimize its running on both 360 and PS3. You can check out the full interview here.

Final Fantasy XIII is set to release this year on PS3 in Japan and then follow with a simultaneous PS3 and 360 launch worldwide in early 2010. Let us know in the comments what you think of Mr. Kitase's response!
