Bravely Second's antagonists revealed
Square Enix has updated the Bravely Second official website, introducing the main antagonist characters for the game as well as several new gameplay quirks. We see artwork and renders for Emperor Oblivion and his fairy partner Anne. These villains are responsible for the kidnapping of Pope Agnes and interrupting the truce between the Crystal Orthodoxy and the Duchy of Eternia. They reside in the imperial nation of Glanz, which is also home to many asterisk holders. Oblivion's true intent at this point, however, remain a mystery.
One major new gameplay addition in this sequel is Chain Chance, which activates if you manage to clear a random encounter in a single turn. The player has the option to jump straight into another battle, this time with increased rewards for vanquishing enemies. Additionally, the main character, Yuu, will note down enemies that the party encounters into his journal as a sort of bestiary for the game.
Finally, a town rebuilding minigame makes its return in Bravely Second. This time around, the player can gather villagers to rebuild Magnolia's hometown ... on the moon.
Bravely Second releases sometime this Winter in Japan.
