New screenshots for Tokyo Xanadu show off the battle system
Falcom has provided a number of updates to Tokyo Xanadu in recent weeks, set to release on PlayStation Vita in Japan later this year.
Three characters have been introduced so far, and the game's official website indicates that there is one more to reveal. Asuka is the class president, Kou is a typical student (who soons finds himself caught in the conflict), and Sora is the youngest member, gifted in karate.
Asuka, however, is not just a student. She also is on a secret mission to investigate the "Other World" and the demons that wander it, called Greed. Equipped with special weapons known as Soul Devices, those with ties to the Other World can defend the world from these demons.
The combat system is party-based and real time, comprising of normal attacks, ranged attacks, aerial attacks, and strength skills. Various skills are performed using the square button, depending on when you use it and if the button is tapped or held. Each character has different range and speed based on their weapon , for example, Sora attacks the quickest but has the shortest reach.
