The first trailer for the Dragon Quest VIII remake is looking good
Nintendo just keeps laying on things thick as they continue to promote the nice-looking remake for Dragon Quest VIII: Journey of the Cursed King, arguably one of the most popular entries in the series originally released for PlayStation 2 over a decade ago.
No longer content with screenshots, the debut trailer has been revealed which was shown off during the Nintendo Direct earlier. This was captured by another site as the original has been region blocked through Square Enix's Youtube channel, so if we find a better quality one we'll be sure to update the post.
We get a brief look at Morrie and Red, the two newest playable characters exclusive to the remake along with some scenes from the original game. Improvements include full voice acting (for the first time in the series) along with an orchestrated soundtrack by the Tokyo Metropolitan Symphony Orchestra. There have also been new story scenarios added that venture into Dhoulmagus’ past, as well as the hero's childhood.
Dragon Quest VIII: Journey of the Cursed King for the Nintendo 3DS is out on August 27th in Japan. There has been no word on a localization.
