Mass Effect Andromeda's E3 trailer is short but exciting
With Mass Effect Andromeda slipping from its initially-announced Holiday 2015 launch, it wasn't exactly clear just how much of the game we'd see at EA's press conference at E3 2016. Despite the fact that the game is assumedly something like ten months out from its announced 'early 2017' date we did expect a little more than this - but it seems Bioware is playing their cards close to their chest with this one.
We do get some things out of this trailer, though - a glimpse at your new ship, The Tempest, which seems to evoke the Normandy while featuring an iconic design of its own, and a first proper glimpse at some live gameplay scenes from the much-anticipated title.
What is curious is what a showing like this means for the game. Is this purely a tactical decision on what to show, or is the game coming in hot and not yet ready for a broader showing? Bioware and EA aren't commenting, but they are remaining committed to their announced Early 2017 target. Whatever the case, what little there is in this video is pretty exciting, and we can't wait to see more. See it for yourself below.
