Deep Silver to bring Persona 5 to Europe
Deep Silver has announced a multi-title deal with Sega to bring several titles from it and Atlus to Europe and other PAL territories, including Persona 5.
Shin Megami Tensei IV: Apocalypse and Sega title 7th Dragon III: Code VFD will also come to Europe as part of the deal.
Deep Silver will publish both physical and digital versions of all three games.
It comes after Atlus's long-time publishing partner in Europe, NIS America, announced the end of its partnership earlier this year.
"We are delighted to have signed this publishing partnership and look forward to using all our pan-European publishing network to maximize the potential of the Atlus and Sega games," said Deep Silver CEO Klemens Kundratiz.
Atlus CEO and Sega of America SVP of publishing Naoto Hiraoka added: "In entering this partnership with Deep Silver, I am truly delighted we will be able to release our titles in the European regions.
In a further statement direct to fans, Atlus also said there'd be other games coming that'll also be published in Europe by Deep Silver outside of the three mentioned today.
"We aren’t ready to share release dates for those just yet, but for all our fans in Europe, we can finally say “we worked on it, and now we’ve got an answer for you,” it said in a blog on its website. "We’ll be working closely with Deep Silver to bring information specific to the PAL region releases for both the current and upcoming titles. But for now, we are just relieved that our EU fans have an answer to 'will these titles release in Europe?'"
Atlus has previous form with Deep Silver and also with a Team Persona-made game too: the latter helped publish the excellent Catherine in Europe for PlayStation 3 and Xbox 360 in early 2012 following a late 2010 launch in Japan and a summer 2011 launch in the US, both published by Atlus.
Persona 5 will release in Japan on September 15 and February 14, 2017 in the US for PlayStation 4 and PlayStation 3. Shin Megami Tensei IV: Apocalypse will launch in the US later this year for 3DS following a February launch earlier in the year for Japan. 7th Dragon III: Code VFD hits the US next week, July 12, for 3DS. Expect our review for the latter soon.
