Final Fantasy XV update 1.03 now out for Xbox One & PS4 adding new features and bug fixes
Square Enix has just quietly pushed out a new version update for Final Fantasy XV on both Xbox One and PlayStation 4. The new update, version 1.03, adds some new content to the game plus fixes various bugs.
The patch is 3.2gb on PS4 and a similar size on Xbox One. The biggest addition to FF15 in the patch is the New Game + mode. This mode allows players who've finished the game to carry over their data into an all-new file of the game. You should be wary about using this, for the record: while you keep your AP, items, costumes, settings, levels, weapons and even Armiger weapons, you'll lose access to the upgraded Ultima Blade weapon and of course lose your flying car, if you've got it.
New Game + doesn't offer any additional boost to enemies - by choosing New Game + you will inevitably be naturally over-levelled. It's there if you want it now, however.
New additions beyond New Game+ for Patch Version 1.03
While New Game + is the big draw for the patch, there are additional bonuses for players beyond that. There's a new photo frame feature to further enhance the fun around Prompto's photography, and also the content has finally been added to the game for the previously-announced Holiday Pack DLC, which was announced as part of the larger DLC road-map for the game.
The Holiday Pack will arrive on December 22nd, and when it launches the stuff added in this patch will be available to unlock. It features the following:
- Warrior’s Fanfare – A scroll of sheet music containing a song of jubilation that provides additional AP for earning an A+ in Offense outside of training.
- Nixperience Band – A device that stops experience points from being tallied, preventing the party from leveling up for an added challenge.
- Carnival Passport – An adorably adorned ticket that whisks the bearer away to a fun-filled carnival for a limited time.
- Choco-Mog Tee (available late January) – An exclusive T-shirt featuring everyone’s favorite fluffy and feathery friends. Colorful, comfy and appropriate for any carnival-goer.
The Premium version of the Holiday Pack includes even more stuff. We'll bring more on that as the pack launches.
