Mass Effect Andromeda won't have a season pass, but it does have pre-order bonuses
Mass Effect Andromeda will be skipping one fairly standard EA practice when it releases in March - it won't have a downloadable content season pass.
The news comes from Bioware General Manager Aaryn Flynn over on Twitter. When asked by a fan if the game would have a season pass, his reply was quite definitive: "Nope".
Flynn wouldn't be drawn on what this means for DLC, such as if the game will have all free DLC, or if DLC for Andromeda will only be for the multiplayer, however. We'll learn more about this in the future.
Pre-order bonuses are still a thing in Andromeda
While the latest Mass Effect won't have a season pass, one thing that's been recently confirmed is that the game will have some fairly standard-issue pre-order bonuses for those who lock their purchase in early.
A listing on the Xbox Australia store (spotted by VG247) lists off the bonuses you'll get for pre-ordering the regular edition of the game. They are:
- Deep Space Explorer Armor: "Get ready for the far edges of the Andromeda Galaxy in this unique armor set"
- Nomad Skin: "A unique skin for the Nomad as you explore new planets"
- Multiplayer Booster Pack: "Jumpstart your multiplayer co-op play with a booster pack. Includes 5x of 50% XP Boosters (received instantly, limit 1 per match)"
There are also Deluxe and Super Deluxe versions of the game which include these bonuses and several mode besides.
Mass Effect Andromeda is out on March 21st, a date that was only announced recently. If you want to know how the game's RPG mechanics work, we have a breakdown of the systems.
