Final Fantasy VII Remake and Kingdom Hearts III development will "still be a while", says Nomura

Final Fantasy VII Remake director and Kingdom Hearts III co-director and series creator Tetsuya Nomura has essentially warned fans to temper expectations for those games being released any time soon, warning they're still a way away.

"The release of these titles will still be a while," he told Japanese gaming magazine Famitsu (via Hachima and Siliconera).

Nomura also apologized for the wait and for a recent lack of information, but promised to make up for it with high quality games and by releasing and by revealing surprises about this coming year.

"We have many titles releasing this year, and we hope you look forward to any surprises," he said.

Nomura also described development on both games in detail, saying that Kingdom Hearts III "still has worlds that remain untouched," though the development tem is "advanced on the production of games still to be announced."

On FF7 Remake, Nomura said that the game was "making steady progress", but ultimately returned to the classic Square Enix adage of asking fans to "wait a little longer" for both games.
