New core Pokemon game coming to the Nintendo Switch
During Nintendo's digital conference today prior to E3 2017, Pokémon's President and CEO Tsunekazu Ishihara announced in a video message that developer Game Freak has begun developing a Pokémon core RPG title for Nintendo Switch. No further details were provided, but he did note that the title may not release for more than a year.
This will mark the first console-based entry in the core series that has only truly existed for the handhelds. In the past, we have only seen spin-off entries like Pokemon Stadium and Pokemon Snap see light on the bigger screen. It doesn't sound like the game has been in development for that long - a given based on the recency of the Switch - but we'll hopefully hear more news on it soon.
