Square Enix profits up 67.7 percent in 2009
Square Enix have reported that their profits for the first nine months of the fiscal year are up 67.7% on the same period last year, with an operating income of 21.4 billion Yen.
Actual sales were up by 135 billion Yen, an increase of 30%.
The strong performance in the period will have been helped along by the Japanese releases of Final Fantasy XIII and Dragon Quest IX, while the Western releases of titles like Kingdom Hearts: 358/2 Days will have also helped.
Even the newly acquired Eidos side of the business was part of contributing to this success, with the high-selling Batman: Arkham Asylum responsible for a large chunk of profit.
