Etrian Odyssey V launch edition revealed for North America

Atlus just loves to give those who buy physical editions of their games a little something extra in return, and this case is no different.

Today, they gave our first look at the launch edition for the North American version of Etrian Odyssey V: Beyond the Myth  ahead of its release later this year. There's been no word whether this will extend to our European brethren.

Those willing to invest will pick up a free art book, mini OST, and a special box for their troubles. You can preorder it now on Amazon.

They say that whoever reaches the top of the colossal Yggdrasil will have their greatest wish fulfilled. So what’s so hard about hiking up a tree? Well, besides being a gigantic labyrinth, the Yggrasil is home to many nightmarish creepy crawlies and terrifying FOEs just waiting for a tasty treat to come waltzing by. But don’t let that dampen your adventurous spirit because the Etrian Odyssey V launch edition contains many treasures that will strengthen your resolve! Here’s what you’ll get when you pre-order or otherwise grab the limited launch edition of the game:

• 24-Page Art Book – Beautiful character art and concept sketches by the illustrious Yuji Himukai cover the pages of this magnificent art book. The unique explorers that will fill up your party are a wonder to behold.
• 6-Track Music CD – A grand journey is utterly droll without music, so get into the adventuring mindset with an enchanting soundtrack crafted by long-time series composer Yuzo Koshiro!
• Outer Box – The Yggdrasil and eager adventurers adorn this colorful out box which protects the precious treasures it holds within.

Along with that, they shared a new trailer that takes a look at the Dragoon, one of the new classes featured in the sequel. Dragoon fans, unite!

One of the four classes for the Earthlain race, the Dragoon is all about soaking up damage and dishing out the heavy artillery with their hand cannon. They’ll need to rely on protecting the party from various attacks with different guard stances and is the first line of defense against all the hostile creates roaming around the Yggdrasil. As Dragoons level up, they can choose between a Master form that emphasizes strong defense or one that focuses on offensive capabilities.

Finally, Atlus revealed they will be streaming the Etrian Odyssey series on their Twitch channel every Friday starting July 28 at 3:00PM PDT, lead to the first Etrian Odyssey V stream that will happen on September 15. Those who join will have the chance to win some prizes while learning more about the games.

Etrian Odyssey V: Beyond the Myth is set to be released in North America and Europe sometime this autumn.
