See all 14 weapon types in Monster Hunter: World in a new gameplay demonstration video
Earlier today the official Capcom Japan YouTube page uploaded short clips detailing the 14 weapon types featured in Monster Hunter: World. While these clips aren’t particularly in-depth, they do go on long enough to detail the base characteristics of each weapon. And in the case of some of these videos, they reveal some new abilities these weapons will bring to the table.
Of particular note is the fact that many of these weapons appear to now have the ability to activate a “sliding dodge” maneuver that can be chained into attacks, somewhat similarly to the Adept Hunting Style from last year’s Monster Hunter Generations.
Several weapons that previously didn’t have a good way of chaining into an aerial attack seem to have received new abilities to make their jobs easier while attempting to mount an enemy monster. Then you have the absurd ability for the Insect Glaive to “air-dash” in different directions in order to better target a monster while you're in the air.
We’ve edited and compiled all 14 of the videos Capcom has released into one long video, which you can see below.
Also, for those interested, Capcom has launched a contest to design a weapon that will appear in the game. You will have until August 16 at 9:00PDT to enter. To find out more, visit the contest page.
Monster Hunter: World is to set to be released for the PlayStation 4 and Xbox One with a simultaneous worldwide release in early 2018. A PC release will arrive later on.
