Bioware General Manager and Mass Effect creator Casey Hudson wants Mass Effect to continue despite Andromeda's struggles
Yesterday, we shared the news from BioWare that they will effectively end all single-player patches and content updates for Mass Effect: Andromeda, effectively killing any potential for new DLC.
This news broke almost 5 months to the day from when the game was originally released, which was back on March 21 of this year. It painted an ill picture of the franchise so many have come to love. You could say it has been carrying a stigma ever since fans experienced the controversial ending to Mass Effect 3.
But we've got some good news, and it comes from the man at the very top of the company.
Casey Hudson, the General Manager of BioWare who made his return to the company a month ago following a 3-year absence, let his thoughts be known when he replied to another user via his Twitter account:
"Yes! I love # MassEffect too much to not want to work on it again in the future. Thanks for the support - it means everything to our team."
Of course, it would be rather obvious EA would still have an invested interest in the franchise - after all, it takes a lot of work to build-up brand recognition for anything, but they may not be ready to rush into it seeing as how their eyes are on the prize with the upcoming release of Anthem.
Regardless, we know one thing is for certain: there is still a crew at BioWare who would love to be a part of the next project, Casey Hudson very much included.
