Dragon Quest IX Heads Westward
Nintendo announced today during their Nintendo Summit that they will be publishing Dragon Quest IX: Sentinels of the Starry Skies in North America. The game will be released this summer exclusively on the Nintendo DS, a radical change after years of the series being exclusive to the consoles.
Since the title launched last July, the game has gone on to sell more than 4.14 million copies in the Land of the Rising Sun, pretty impressive for a gamethat doesn't include the name "Mario" in its title. Nintendo has signed on to a "unique partnership" with Square-Enix to handle publishing duties in America. We hope to hear news of a European release soon enough.
Since the new Nintendo DSi XL will be released in American on March 28th, make this a great Summer Solstice present for a friend or relative!
