Tetracast - Episode 80: Emulators Are Here to Stay
Welcome to the latest edition of the Tetracast, RPG Site's weekly podcast!
Before we get into the news, we talk about our recent happenings. Josh is back from vacation, so he goes over his experiences in Florida during CEOtaku. He also gets into Cuphead, the latest indie darling making waves in the industry with its recent release. Meanwhile, Adam has not-so-great thoughts on Mario & Luigi SuperStar Saga + Bowser’s Minions. And Zack has some praises and some misgivings about Blue Reflection.
Tokyo Game Show left a giant void in its wake, so there wasn't a lot of news to cover this past week. As a result, a lot of our conversation was dominated by just a few topics worth mentioning.
For one thing, Atlus decided to take the odd PR hit by trying to take down RPCS3, the PlayStation 3 emulator that continues to grow in popularity. Speaking of emulation, Nintendo made the announcement the Wii Shop Channel will be ending services in January 2019, so will this type of software protect us from software that will be lost to time? We discuss this entire issue at length. That and more on the latest edition of the podcast!
This edition of the Tetracast features Adam Vitale, Josh Torres, and is hosted by Zack Reese. As always, you can find links to the full episode of the podcast below along with our RSS feed, and also subscribe to us on iTunes.
