Final Fantasy XIII tops UK Charts, PS3 leads 360
Square Enix's Final Fantasy XIII has performed strongly as expected, topping the UK charts, with the PS3 version of the game performing the best, outselling the Xbox 360 version. The PS3 version walked away with 54% of the total sales.
Microsoft had an exclusive advertising deal for Final Fantasy XIII in the West which consisted of an exclusive console bundle package including the game and TV adverts that only mentioned the Xbox 360 and did not feature the PS3 in them at all. 360 still failed to take the stop spot but the PS3's lead was smaller than many predicted, at 4%.
Square Enix reported they shipped 5 million copies of the game worldwide last week, with 3 million of those in the US and Europe.
