Deep Sky Derelicts is now available for early access on Steam

The retro sci-fi tales and artwork in comics have always been a childhood favorite of mine, and seeing these elements in the indie SRPG Deep Sky Derelicts is really interesting and exciting. The comic book aesthetic style is deeply embedded in the game's interface and overall art direction - go ahead and see for yourself in the trailer below.

Deed Sky Derelicts is currently available for early access on Steam, and the team is looking forward for players' feedback in this first early access build. The game is set in a dystopian world where you explore ancient spaceships and mankind is split into two distinct classes: the privileged who live on beautiful planets and the poor who are forced to live off scraps on derelict stations and ships.

The gameplay is described as a combination of turn-based strategy with tactical card combat and popular rogue-like elements. Your equipment is fused with various cards to provide more tactical depth in the battles. There's a high replay value thanks to its procedural generation (meaning it's randomized) of levels, missions and loot.

The first Deed Sky Derelicts early access build contains the following:

  • A story mode
  • Six character classes to build your squad from
  • Thirteen core equipment types and 17 extension types, offering a variety of weapons and tools for your arsenal
  • Over 70 different playable cards, and 12 missions to get to know more about the game's story.

The Early Access is planned to run for six to seven months, with the goal of releasing the final game in March 2018. The full game will have a campaign mode (10-20 hours of content) with a complete story, a hardcore difficulty mode, and increased customization possibilities.
