Surviving the Rotten Vale in this Monster Hunter: World gameplay clip

Capcom continues to ramp up its pre-release media for the highly anticipated Monster Hunter: World, which releases later this month. Just a couple days ago we had our first look at the Coral Highlands, but today we get an extended look at the relatively grim environment located just underneath the Highlands: the Rotten Vale.

With corpses and skeletons strewn everywhere, the Rotten Vale may be a destination many go to die, but that doesn't mean there isn't all manner of beasts lurking about, looking to add to the body count. In the 8 minutes of footage, we see some of the difficulty of the deadly environment on top of fighting the ferocious creatures that reside within it. The Rotten Vale is full of acid puddles and toxic gas that will only make the journey that much more demanding.

Monster Hunter: World releases for PlayStation 4 and Xbox One on January 26. The game makes its way to PC later this year.
