Tower of Time is a new promising-looking tactical RPG, and it's leaving Steam Early Access soon
Independent developer Event Horizon recently posted a new pre-release trailer for their debut title Tower of Time. Tower of Time has been in Early Access on Steam since last year, but I'll be honest and say that I hadn't heard about the title until recently. With two videos uploaded to their youtube account in the last week, however, it seems like Event Horizon is ramping up marketing on the title as they approach the release of their first game.
The past couple years have been pretty promising in terms of quality cRPG style games ranging from Obsidian Entertainment's titles to Original Sin I and II to Torment: Tides of Numenera. So to see a new developer take a swing at the style is definitely encouraging. Tower of Time is a Real-Time with Pause game, so fans of that style could have this to look forward to in addition to Pillars of Eternity II: Deadfire. The Early Access portion of Tower of Time currently sits at 96% positive on Steam with over 110 reviews. People are definitely liking what they've seen and played so far.
Event Horizon describes Tower of Time as a story-driven RPG with new and challenging combat system, along with handcrafted locations and quests, boasting a final playtime exceeding 40 hours. Check out the pre-release trailer below. The ending of the trailer lists "Spring 2018" as a final launch date for the game. I'm pretty excited to try it out once it hits 1.0.
We've also gathered some of the various artwork and screenshots for the title in the gallery below.
Tower of Time is slated to leave Early Access this Spring.
