Learn more about the Snow Cruiser Centurion in Valkyria Chronicles 4
After previously covering Tanks and APCs, the latest issue of Weekly Famitsu magazine comes back with another new batch of Valkyria Chronicles 4 information. This batch introduces the large snow cruiser ship that we have been seeing in prior trailers of the game.
We have translated this brand-new information from the magazine, which you can read right below.
UPDATE: Sega has updated the official website with images, which have been added to the gallery.
Snow Cruiser Centurion
Centurion is a snow cruiser constructed to pass through icy fields with equipment such as a giant impact horn at the ship’s bow designed to break ice. With a length of over 230 meters, she literally looks like a tank on ice when cruising through crevasses.
Characters – Crew members of Centurion
- Rowland Morgan (voiced by Michihiro Ikemizu)
A captain in the Edinburgh navy who also leads Centurion. Although he is a warm and meek man, he used to be feared as the Demon Captain in the past. In emergency situations, he does not lose his composure and becomes a spiritual pillar for his crew members. - Brian Haddock (voiced by Takuya Kirimoto)
A lieutenant junior grade who works as the chief navigator, supporting captain Morgan. He looks sensitive and hard to approach, but in actuality, he is a good worker. He thinks the navy is superior and looks down on the army, so he often has conflicts with Claude. - Louf (voiced by Shino Shimoji)
This girl graduated from the navy training academy by skipping grades, so the navy uses her ability by appointing her as the tracker in Centurion. She is too serious and harsh in speaking so she has few friends, but Marie is good friends with her. - Marie Bennett (voiced by Hiroko Ushida)
A chief petty officer who works as the communications staff at Centurion. A calm woman who never stops smiling, she is likened to a big sister by the crew members. Outside of missions, she is a hard worker who cleans the ship interiors and performs regular patrols. She is also good at cooking.
Ship Orders
During battles, the player can issue Ship Orders to receive support from Centurion. Although these orders are powerful, they have a limited number of usages, so they are best issued at the right timing. The types and usage numbers of Ship Orders can be increased from the Research & Development facility.
- Radar
This Ship Order is available from the beginning. The player will designate an area after issuing this order. Centurion will then use her radar to find enemies that are undiscovered or lost from sights within the area. - Cannon Fire
An offensive Ship Order where Centurion’s cannon fire will deal damage to enemies within the area. The player can determine which area to attack in the Command Mode map. - Vehicle Emergency Repair
Perform repairs to allied vehicle units that have retreated. Normally, vehicles that have been destroyed would no longer be usable in the same mission, but this Ship Order will allow them to sortie again. - Rescue Unit
A rescue unit will be launched from Centurion, healing HP of allied footsoldier units in the battlefield. If there are soldiers dying on the field when this order is issued, the unit will evacuate them to the ship.
Valkyria Chronicles 4 will be released first in Japan on PlayStation 4 on March 22, with the Nintendo Switch version following in summer. The international release, which includes an Xbox One version, will be out later in 2018. Sega has also just published a new trailer above that explains the game's world setting in detail; you can read more of that in this article.
