Kingdom Hearts III - D23 Expo Japan 2018 trailer reveals Monsters Inc. World

D23 Expo Japan is taking place this weekend and during the Kingdom Hearts Fan Event, Square Enix showed off a new trailer officially revealing a Monsters Inc. world in Kingdom Hearts III. Monsters Inc. joins Tangled, Olympus Coliseum from Hercules, Big Hero 6, and Toy Story as the confirmed worlds so far.

The trailer also shows appearances from Marluxia and Vanitas, villains in previous Kingdom Hearts games. You can find the trailer below, with English subtitles:

The existence of a Monsters Inc world was leaked a few months ago, when several in dev screenshots appeared on various forums. Sora and company turn into monsters in this world and meet characters like Boo, Sully, and Mike.

Also announced at the Fan Event, Utada Hikaru returns with a new song "Don't Think Twice" ("Oath" in Japanese) to feature as the game's main theme. A second new trailer showcases the new theme along with gameplay footage, including Riku's look in the game.

Reports state that the final release date for Kingdom Hearts III will be revealed at E3 2018, but this is unconfirmed. The game is still set for this year on PlayStation 4 and Xbox One.
