Get an in-depth look at Death end re;Quest in a new gameplay trailer

Earlier today, Compile Heart revealed a new look at Death end re ;Quest, their upcoming RPG, with over sixteen minutes of new footage to digest. This will be the first in what will be a series of videos showing off the game.

In Death end re;Quest, players will take control of the protagonist Arata Mizunashi, who works as a game programmer. One day he receives an email from Shiina Ninomiya, the game director who has been missing since a year ago. Arata finds out that Shiina is trapped and cannot log out from a VR MMORPG named World Odyssey, which was canceled during development, so he goes there to rescue her.

Shiina is the only player who is logged into World Odyssey which is filled with bugs and glitches. Arata will have to play through the game, not only inside the game which has living NPCs, but also outside the game with the help of his real-life coworkers.

Death end re;Quest is scheduled to be released in Japan exclusively for the PlayStation 4 on April 12. There has yet to be a localization announcement.
