Assassin's Creed Origins - Discovery Tour and New Game + modes now available
Assassin's Creed Origins is getting continued support in the form of post-release content, with the first story DLC The Hidden Ones landing a few weeks ago. Today, two more major updates have been added to the game, Discovery Tour and New Game +, and both are free for Assassin's Creed Origins owners.
Discovery Tour allows players to partake in nonviolent interactive lessons about Ancient Egypt, its history and its culture. There are 75 different lessons to undertake at your own pace. You can even purchase the Discovery Tour stand-alone for $19.99 on Steam or Uplay if you do not own Assassin's Creed Origins. You can read more here.
Additionally, a long-requested New Game + mode is also available, for free. It allows players to take their complete game character into a brand new game while keeping their equipment and levels. New Game + mode will bump up the difficulty level by one, and completing the mode will reward players with a secret surprise.
You can find more details on New Game + here.
All character progression will carry over to NG+, including the following:
- Equipment (weapons, shields, tools, outfits, mounts)
- Abilities acquired and available ability points
- Crafting status
- Player level
- XP
- Inventory (crafting materials, arrows, tools, animal goods, trinkets)
What does not carry over?
Starting an NG+ save, players will restart at the beginning of the game, which will automatically reset some elements, and thus the following won't carry over:
- Targets
- Maps and discovered territories
- Location completion
- Quest completion
- Senu’s perception
- Hidden blade will be unequipped (however, the crafting status will carry over once available in the story)
- Quest items
- Papyri
The next major post-launch addition to Assassin's Creed Origins is The Curse of the Pharaohs DLC, which launches on March 6 for $19.99 or as a part of the game's season pass.
