First Screenshots for Etrian Odyssey X

Following its announcement last week, Atlus has posted the first screenshots for Etrian Odyssey X. Many of the details, such as the class list, were covered in Famitsu last week which you can find here, along with a translated interview with director Shigeo Komori. Etrian Odyssey X takes place in the sky, on the floating town of Maginia. Here, princess Persephone has called for adventurers from all over the world - Etria, Lagaard, Armoroad, Tharsis - to seek out treasure on the uncharted sky island of Lemuria.

The game features 18 classes from previous games in the series, plus the new Hero class. Each class has 4 character artworks to choose from, and art components such as hair and eye color, along with character voice, can be tweaked using the character creator. [Note: Classes found in both Etrian Odyssey 1 and 2 seem to use their EO2 artwork]

True to the goal of being a culmination of the series up to this point, Etrian Odyssey X also features some returning characters from previous titles, such as Shilleka (EO1), Napier (EO3), and Wiglaf (EO4). Perhaps we'll see other familiar faces in the game as well?

As previously detailed, Etrian Odyssey X features mechanics from past games including Force Boost and subclassing. It'll be interesting to see how some classes from some of the earliest games in the series wil fare with these more modern systems.

You can find all the screenshots and artwork in the gallery below. Etrian Odyssey X is set to release on August 2 in Japan for Nintendo 3DS. An English localization has yet to be announced.
