Star Ocean: Anamnesis is headed to the west
After suddenly appearing on the Google Play store, Square Enix is apparently bringing tri-Ace's free-to-play smartphone RPG Star Ocean: Anamnesis to the west for iOS and Android devices sometime this July.
The game itself has been available to users in Japan since December 2016, and the recent Star Ocean Fes 2018 event mostly focused on it.

You are the captain of the Pangalactic Federation starship GFSS-3214F. A surprise attack and a malfunctioning hyperspace drive sends you hurtling to the outer reaches of space. However, with the help of a mysterious woman and her ability to summon heroes from across time and space, you just might be able to fight your way back home!

Android users interested in checking out the game can pre-register for it through the Google Play store. Note: some are reporting the link is broken, but it works for those living in the US. Try searching for it in your own app as it could only be open for certain regions at the moment.

Square Enix has opened a pre-registration campaign through the official Twitter & Facebook accounts, as well as Google Play which allows accounts to unlock a variety of awards following launch - determined by the total number of pre-registrations across all participating channels. Prizes include "bubbly iconic series character Welch Vineyard", as well as the "cool and collected Faize". The full list of pre-registration rewards is shown in the infographic below.
