Terra Battle 2 will be shut down in Japan on September 28
Earlier this month, Mistwalker announced that their free-to-play mobile RPG game Terra Battle 2 is going to be shut down in North America on September 3.
While mobile games usually last much longer in Japan, this does not seem to be the case with Terra Battle 2, as it has just been announced today on the Japanese website that Terra Battle 2 will also be closed down in Japan on September 28, in exactly three more months after the announcement is made.
The Japanese operating team for Terra Battle 2 has provided some explanations in the announcement, which we have translated below:
"Since Terra Battle 2 started on September 21, 2017, we had been aiming to provide even better services. But after having various meetings with Mistwalker Corporation which publishes Terra Battle 2 and Silicon Studio which forms the main constituent of the operating team, as Silicon Studio is withdrawing from the gaming industry, we have concluded that it would be difficult to provide services that can satisfy our customers in the future. So we are going to end the service on Friday, September 28, 2018 at 17:00."
Right at the same time when this announcement was published, the Japanese Terra Battle 2 operating team has also terminated sales of the in-game currency Super Energy, and Japanese users can start applying for refunds of unused paid Super Energy until the game shuts down in Japan on September 28 at 17:00 JST.
