Divinity: Original Sin II Definitive Edition receives a new gameplay trailer
Bandai Namco has shared a new look at the gameplay for Larian Studio's upcoming Divinity: Original Sin II Definitive Edition.
The definitive edition update is slated to have thousands of changes and tweaks of varying scope. Over 130,000 new words on dialogue have been recorded in an effort to tweak some of the loose narratives in the back parts of the game, based on fan feedback. Combat encounters have also been overhauled in order to stomp out awkward difficulty spikes, while also adding brand new encounters to the game. Related to difficulty, the game now has a new Story mode for those wanting to just experience the game's narrative, or perhaps for those PC players wanting to breeze through the game in a second playthrough.
Here's Bandai Namco's explanation of what the video is about:
Today’s trailer features a look at the detailed character creation mechanics, where players can choose from six unique origin plots, as well as additional footage of crafting, conversation choices, and a taste of the game’s newly expanded dialogue – also featured in the game’s completely re-written third chapter.
Players also get a look at battle gameplay, including all new moves, spells, and environments to exploit against enemies’ weaknesses. In addition, the trailer also delivers a look at Divinity: Original Sin II Definitive Edition’s split screen co-op and revamped Arena Mode which features solo gameplay, online multiplayer PVP, and pass-the-controller Hot Seat mode. Arena Mode also introduces 16 characters to the game, including some first-time playable characters such as Malady, Zandalor, and Radeka, each with their own unique set of skills and abilities.
Divinity: Original Sin II Definitive Edition is scheduled to be released on August 31 for PlayStation 4 and Xbox One. Check out the new footage below:
