Original (August 23)
Gust has published another batch of new information for Nelke & the Legendary Alchemists: Ateliers of the New World, at the latest Weekly Famitsu magazine issue. This batch provides more details on activities that can be done in this town-building spinoff which is made to celebrate the 20th anniversary of Atelier series. We have compiled the information which you can read right below.
In Nelke & the Legendary Alchemists, time progresses with week turns which are split into two phases: Weekday and Weekend. The player can opt to skip either phase in the turn if they wish to. In the Weekday phase, Nelke will focus on building the town. The player can build the town to their own liking; they can form a bustling market town with numerous shops lined up across the street, or even bizarrely make a theme park by placing quirky objects. Setting up buildings will cost money, while income can be gained from selling items. In this phase, Nelke can send requests to not only alchemists for mixing certain items, but also to other characters to run shops or even dispatch them to weekday explorations to fetch more items in her stead.
Nelke can perform an entirely different set of activities in the Weekend phase. She can visit other characters to deepen relationships between each other. She can also opt to go on outside expeditions with other characters in this phase. There is one more feature in this phase—Research—which is just introduced in this batch.
Nelke, together with the legendary alchemists, will perform research to further study the secrets of alchemy while deciphering the mystery in the Granzweit Tree. There is a number of research trees that can be taken: Relics, Offense (skills), and Healing supports. Completing research will unlock new recipes or rare items that will help both town expansions and outside expeditions. Some special items may also require to be researched by not one but two alchemists together for a set number of turns to be unlocked.
And of course, a new information batch also comes with a list of more characters that are confirmed to appear in this game.
- Lilie (from Atelier Lilie)
- Shallotte Elminus (from Atelier Shallie)
- Felt Blanchimont (from Atelier Iris 2)
- Edge Vanhite (from Atelier Iris)
- Hagel Boldness (from Atelier Marie etc)
- Pamela (from Atelier Judie etc)
- Lydie Malen (from Atelier Lydie & Suelle)
Purchasing first-print editions of this game will net you a season pass that contains 5 pieces of DLC: 2 sets of BGM packs commemorating Gust's 25th anniversary, a unique house shaped after the Atelier series' 20th anniversary logo, a statue of Sophie based on her appearance in Atelier Sophie: The Alchemist of the Mysterious Book, and Gust's very own mascot Gust-chan appearing as a villager in the game.
The game's limited edition will also come with an exclusive costume for Nelke to dress up like Wilbell Voll-Ersleid. This costume will be available as free DLC at a later date for those who don't get the limited edition.
