The Surge: The Good, The Bad, and The Augmented announced, coming next month
2017's The Surge is getting a somewhat surprising new content update in just under a month. Today, publisher Focus Home Interactive announced that the action RPG will get a new DLC pack in The Good, The Bad, and The Augmented, releasing on October 2. No price has been announced. This would be the second content-heavy DLC for the title behind last December's A Walk in the Park. This new DLC puts a bit of a western twist on the science fiction setting of the game, as shown in the teaser below.
The announcement of a new DLC pack for The Surge is a bit surprising for a couple reasons. For one, The Surge 2 was already announced earlier this year, and secondly the game already has a Complete Edition, advertised as having "the full game, its expansion and all its DLCs". A reply to a similar concern on the game's Twitter page suggests that there will be an updated "Augmented Edition" that will package in the new DLC with the previous content in a single collection at some point in the future.
Heres a little bit about the new DLC from Focus Home:
Enter the bowels of the CREO facility and explore an old and abandoned Quality Assurance lab created to push CREO’s tech to the limit. Warren will face Dr. Rischboter’s deadly test chambers that, for some reason, feel like torn straight out of a twisted Wild West TV show!
Fight through the mad doctor’s training rooms and try modifying them yourself for increased rewards by combining up to 4 of the 16 insane modifiers available. At the end of each stage, fight against distinct Challengers, powerful opponents forged from the training scenarios who are equipped with 30 unique new equipment pieces – armors, weapons, and implants - that you can take for yourself!
