Final Fantasy XIV Open Beta Test begins September 1st

Square Enix have confirmed that the Open Beta Test for Final Fantasy XIV will begin on the 1st of September, allowing anyone who has an interest in the game to jump in and give it a try.

Speaking to us regarding the newly released trailer, Square Enix reps also followed up with a brief confirmation of the open Beta timing - specifically that it'll start as previously mentioned on September 1st at 02:00 GMT.

For all the North American fans out there, that start time will be 19:00 PDT on August 31st. All players from all regions will be able to start at the same time. Expect crashes as people rush and crush the servers!

Final Fantasy XIV is out on PC on 30th September, with the Collector's Edition landing a little earlier on the 22nd. The PS3 version will arrive in March 2011.
