Dissidia: Final Fantasy sequel announced
Square Enix have announced a sequel to the popular PSP RPG/Fighter hybrid Dissidia: Final Fantasy, and it's going to be playable on the show floor at Tokyo Game Show.
Titled Dissidia Duodecim: Final Fantasy, the sequel is to feature new characters, new scenarios, and, we hope, more customization.
Details are scant right now, but we know that the game is on PSP, will launch next year in Japan and will feature Final Fantasy XIII's Lightning and Final Fantasy IV's Kain as new additions to the cast..
There'll be more additions to come, but here's an RPG Site pro tip: Lightning, Kain and Final Fantasy VIII's Seifer were all cut from the original Dissidia for various reasons, so they're all extremely safe bets for the sequel.
We gave the original Dissidia a respectable 85, though it lacked variety in modes of things to do in spite of deep character customization. Here's hoping the sequel can build on those solid foundations. We'll bring you more including our hands-on impressions from TGS, but in the meantime, we want to know: What do you think of Dissidia getting a sequel?
