New Project JUDGE combat details revealed

Earlier this morning the official website for Project JUDGE updated revealing more information on the combat system that will be implemented in Ryu Ga Gotoku Studios' new crime drama. While the gameplay for Project JUDGE is very reminiscent to that of the Yakuza series as illustrated by footage previously shown during the most recent seganama broadcast there are some notable differences.

The website describes the combat of Project JUDGE as a "easy and cool system unique to the work of Ryu Ga Gotoku Studios that can be enjoyed by anyone". Thanks to the Dragon Engine players can enjoy a variety of actions and movesets unique to the new hero, Yagami. Not only is Yagami more agile and lithe than the characters introduced through the Yakuza series, his style is arguably flashier and more acrobatic. (As illustrated below players will also be able to utilize the environment, like walls for example, to their advantage.) Naturally players will also be able to upgrade Yagami's skills and abilities using SP which will also unlock various actions they will be able to execute in battle.

The most notable feature of this new battle system are the "Flash" and "Waltz" styles that players can easily switch between during combat for more strategic play. Players will need to choose which style to use during the appropriate situation in order to overcome powerful enemies. Additionally, an EX Boost system has been added, similar to the Heat Gauge and Heat Actions seen in Yakuza titles once Yagami's EX Boost is activated it temporarily but dramatically increases his strength. Properly using the EX Boost system players can pull off impressive combos.
